Obituary

Lancaster, SC- Chief Master Sergeant Steve Eugene Trotter, age 68, humbly entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born March 23, 1949, the son of the late Excel Trotter and Mary Gardener Trotter and the husband of Najma Imam Trotter.

He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1967. In 1969, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for twenty- eight dedicated years. During that time, he served in the Gulf War and retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1992. After achieving the highest enlisted rank in the United States Air Force, Steve continued to serve our country as a Civilian Contractor for DynCorp International in the city of Muscat, Oman. For eighteen years, Steve was the Senior Supply Chain Manager for the Department of Defense through DynCorp International. After finally retiring, Steve returned home to his family in Lancaster, SC. He was a hardworking, charming, loyal, selfless, very loving, one in a million man. Steve was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He had a strong faith and lived a Christ-like life.

Steve’s vibrant personality and enthusiasm for life was contagious. He had a special and unique way of touching the lives of those who knew him. He had a deep love for his family and friends, which was manifested by his loyalty and generosity. His passing leaves a great void in the lives of many and a loving memory in their hearts.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife of fourteen years, Najma Imam Trotter; three daughters, Stefanie Trotter Heller and her husband, Kevin Heller, Khadija Trotter and her fiancé, Reco Faulkner, Jr., and Najla Trotter; a stepson, Nick Saburnido and his wife, Nova; and three grandchildren, Reco Faulkner III, Khaniel Steve and Jenikka Saburnido.

Also mourning his loss are family and friends whom loved him dearly in the Philippines, Oman, Qatar, New Zealand, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Steve will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Covenant Baptist Church, 165 Craig Manor Rd., Lancaster, SC by Rev. Larry Twitty.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
