LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Jason Claude Hoke, age 33, died Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was born January 5, 1984 in Rock Hill, the son of Devan Claude Hoke and Renee Hinson Hoke. Jason served as a Medic with both Lancaster County EMS and Chester County EMS. He graduated from Midlands Tech and was an EVOC instructor. He received the Star of Life Award from Lancaster County EMS and was awarded a Resolution by Chester County for entering a burning vehicle and rescuing the driver. Jason deeply loved his son and his entire family. He was of the Christian faith.
Jason is survived by his parents; Devan and Renee Hoke of Fort Mill; a son, Jason Claude Hoke, Jr.; a sister, Ashley Eargle and her husband, Jason of Stanfield, NC; his paternal grandmother, Merlie H. Ward of Lancaster and his maternal grandmother, Sylvia Hinson of Richburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John W. Ward, Jr. and his maternal grandfather, Grady Hinson.
Jason’s family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the college fund set up for Jason Hoke, Jr. at Edward Jones Financials, Attn: Gabe Gregory, Jason Hoke, Jr. 529 Plan, 8449 Charlotte Hwy, Indian Land, SC 29707.

Renee and family, my heart goes out to you all. I can only imagine the pain of losing a son and a brother. I pray you will find comfort in one another and relish the good memories of times past.God is always with you so be sure to look to him for comfort too. He's waiting. Love you Vonnie

Sorry for your loss! Jason was my brother's best friend growing up! He was at my house so much that he felt like a brother to me! He was always a very kind and loving young man. I hadn't seen Jason in a long time, however I never forgot about him! My prayers are with each of you! I pray that God wraps his arms around each of you an gives you comfort and peace!
