LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Conard Douglas Rollins of Lancaster, SC, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, June 29, 2018 with his loving wife, Vickie Lytle Rollins, by his side. He was born June 12, 1938 in Great Falls, SC, the son of the late John Conard Rollins and Stella Denmark Rollins. Doug was retired from Bowater. He had a special connection with the outdoors through golfing, fishing and camping. Doug also loved the adventure of going to NASCAR races. He just loved living life to the fullest and felt extremely passionate about his family. Doug was a very unique person; he was truthful, honest, and straight to the point. He was brought up in a Christian home and loved God.
Doug is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vickie; three sons, Conard Douglas Rollins, Jr. and his wife, Anita, Joseph D. Rollins and his wife, Bonnie and Shannon M. Rollins and his wife, Nellie; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Delmas Rollins; a very close cousin who was like a brother, Gene Rollins and his wife, Geri. Doug felt extremely blessed to have 2 young grandchildren, Shannon Douglas and Johnny Sebastian, later in his life. These two children made Doug feel young again.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Becky Rollins; and very special aunt, Maggie Roof.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Doug will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at New Life Freewill Baptist on Springdale Road in Lancaster by Rev. Douglas Pate.
