Daddy where do I begin I’m missing you terribly. My heart is aching for you to be with us. It doesn’t seem real. I only got to have you for 48 years and I wish I could have 48 more but I know the good Lord has other plans. I do know you are not in any more pain. My my how much I love you. We all will be fine but please watch over us and protect us. Summer by the pool isn’t going to be the same. Sunday dinner will not be the same. O how I wish you were still here with us. Going to church will be hard cause I always looked over you when I would come in late and you would always smile and stick your tongue out at me. I will do everything I can to look after mama and the grands and great grands. Can’t imagine the joyous time you are having right now and for eternity. I wish I could see you with your new body. Playing your guitar with Uncle Waymon. Daddy I love you and truly miss you. Thank you for being my dad for 48 years. Until I see again. Meet me at the pearly gates. I love you

Papaw, I know today you’re looking down from Heaven with a big smile on your face, as I’m sure you’ve reunited with so many loved ones who’ve already gone before us. I know you’re healthy, and happy, but here, my heart is broken. I’m sure you’re walking those streets of gold, maybe listening to some bluegrass, maybe even barbecuing a pig! I know you haven’t missed a thing that’s happened down here since you left us last night. I’m sure you know just how overcome with grief we all are. You were the center of our family, your house was always my go-to place when life got tough-walking through the door made me feel like a kid again and made problems disappear. What I’d give to be sitting across the road from your house on my bike, just waiting on you in your silver truck to come home from work and tell me to “come on over.” I am going to miss you so terribly; I already do. Watch over me, watch over Brody, and I’ll be sure to always let him know how much you loved him too. Smile down from Heaven as he grows and plays with his cousins, just as we all played together at your house when we were little. My best childhood memories all include you papaw, and I’ll never forget you. You will always be a piece of my heart that left me last night when you breathed your last. I long for the day when we are all reunited. Rest easy and one day, I’ll look for you to greet me at those pearly gates. I love you papaw.
